Edges
Edges are an essential component of all photographs, even if the photographer hadn't intended it to be the focus. They tend to be a simple way of adding a clean and effective style towards an image. Edges are part of everything and come in an array of varieties; they may be curly, rounded, sharp, short or long. However, my hypothesis for this topic is "edges are often overlooked; they deserve more credit." I'm hoping that this project will help me to see edges from a different perspective and to deeply consider the appearance of the edges in my photos before I take them. Throughout this topic, I am going to ensure I'm both observant and persistent as this is particularly relevant due to the fact that everything around us is formed of edges and a keen eye is required to capture them in a photogenic attire.
Throughout my personal edges project displayed above, I captured a series of objects and used photoshop to bathe them in a violet hue. Each image I have produced contains edges in a variety of shapes and sizes and also differ from curved to straight lines. The tint I have used helps to create a more visually pleasing appearance when viewing the photographs combined in a collage. The majority of these photographs were taken from a close up angle as I decided that this causes the edges to be more conspicuous, which was the intended focus of the project.
